Valley Springs Youth Ranch is dedicated to providing children with opportunities to change their lives. Utilizing a strength-based approach, residents are challenged to develop their coping skills by focusing on what they do well. Each resident has a dedicated therapist and case manager to help him identify and accomplish his treatment goals.
With a capacity of 84 residents, Valley Springs Youth Ranch offers a variety of programming from the Intensive Treatment Unit to the less structured Level III program. We are pleased to offer a new program developed specifically for younger boys ages 6-12. S.T.A.R.S. offers an activity-based, skill-building curriculum to help young residents learn basic social skills.
Education is an integral part of the treatment program of Valley Springs Youth Ranch. Residents may attend the Ranch Campus or the Lesterville Public School Campus. They may participate in the extra-curricular activities of the public school such as baseball and basketball.
We take advantage of our beautiful, rural setting by providing outdoor activities to enhance their treatment experience. Wagon trains, horse-back riding, swimming, canoeing and camping provide awesome opportunities for growth and change. Residents also have the chance to work with animals such as llamas, goats, horses and donkeys enriching their capacity for empathy and building trust.
